Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a partner to join?

Not at all. You’re welcome to join on your own ( as it is a great way to meet people) or come with a partner or even a group— whichever feels most comfortable for you.

If I come alone or with my partner, will I have to dance with other people?

Never. Unlike many traditional studios, we don’t rotate partners or require anyone to dance with someone else. Your comfort always comes first.

That said, if you’d enjoy meeting and dancing with others, you’re absolutely welcome to — our studio culture is built around consent.

Do I need to commit to a full term of lessons?

No. We offer simple monthly "Class Series" rather than large upfront term payments or casual one-off classes.

This approach gives you consistency, better progress, and more value from your learning experience without the pressure of long-term lock-ins.

What should I wear to class?

Most of our students come straight from work, so there’s no need for anything overly formal. Simply wear something comfortable and easy to move in that makes you feel confident.

We recommend avoiding very restrictive clothing or anything too loose or short that may shift while dancing. A touch of perfume or cologne is always appreciated as part of studio etiquette.

What shoes are best for dancing?

For beginners, we recommend dress shoes with a secure fit or strap that stay comfortably in place while dancing, as to not to fly of with a kick!

Try to avoid sneakers or rubber-soled shoes, as they tend to grip the floor too much and can make movement more difficult on the dance floor.

Is there parking nearby?

Yes — there’s convenient free parking located close to  all of our studio locations.

Are class sizes limited?

Yes — we intentionally keep our class sizes limited to create a more personal and comfortable learning experience for everyone.

Places are available on a first come, first served basis, so we recommend booking early to secure your spot.

Our Studio PolicyTo help us provide the best experience for everyone, please note that all bookings are final. We are unable to issue refunds, transfers, or credits for missed classes. Because our sessions are planned in advance, your enrollment reserves a specific spot that cannot be filled by another dancer. These bookings also allow us to cover the essential costs of running our programs. If truly exceptional circumstances arise, please reach out to us, as any exceptions must be approved by our studio operators.Private & Wedding Lessons: Please remember that a 24-hour cancellation policy applies to these personalized sessions.Thank you for your understanding! We truly appreciate your support of our small, proudly 100% Canberran-owned and operated business.

Alison is simply the best dance teacher. John and I have met lovely people and learnt so much through all her classes whilst always having great fun.

Helen Monten

Alison choreographed our wedding dance and I have to say she is the best teacher ever. She is super passionate and talented, knows exactly the style and vibe that we want and goes way above and beyond to put together the best routine we could ever ask for.

Jay Cruise

I love attending her group classes and private lessons. The dance group is supportive and all really wonderful people.
